Andy Ruth is the founder of Sustainable Evolution. His journey from the U.S. Navy to becoming a visionary leader in technology and workforce development began with a passion for helping others succeed.

Early in his career, Andy honed his technical expertise working with high-tech companies like McDonnell Douglas, General Dynamics, Digital Equipment, Tandem. As a technology author, trainer, and keynote speaker at conferences, and at Microsoft and Amazon, he created impactful training programs and certification paths for technologists. Throughout his career, Andy realized his calling wasn’t just mastering technology; it was helping others grow in their careers.

With a deep understanding of architecture, cloud environments, and agile methodologies, Andy has built a reputation as a subject matter expert and educator. His groundbreaking work on certification programs like the Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA), Comptia's A+, Network+, Security+, and CTT+, Iasa's CITA-P and CITA-D, and contributions to Amazon Web Services (AWS) frameworks, whitepapers, reference architectures, and product and product API content positioned him as a leader in workforce development.

In 2008, Andy decided to merge his love for technology and his passion for empowering others by founding Sustainable Evolution, a consultancy focused on workforce development and training for technologists. Sustainable Evolution creates apprenticeship programs, builds career paths, and fosters lifelong learning opportunities for professionals across the globe.

For Andy, founding his own company wasn’t just a career move—it was the next step in his mission to help others achieve their full potential in the digital age.
